Love Hina is a wonderful, funny and uplifting series that I've got everyone in my wake addicted to. It only finished airing on Japanese television circa October 2000 so getting it anywhere except online is nigh on impossible.

It's the story of Keitaro who made a promise to a childhood sweetheart that they would get into Tokyo U. together and live happily ever after. Sadly he's not seen her in 15 years and can't remember her name, let alone the fact that he keeps failing and can't get into university at all.

In desperation he takes over the job of managing his grandmother's all girl dormitory where he meets a cast of strange and fascinating characters. This has something for everyone... spoofs of anime, computer games and Monkey, as well as romance, comedy and Kendo.

While it appears to be aimed at the Shojo (girl) manga market it's still got a lot to offer guys and dolls alike. The manga is only available in Japanese currently and DVDs are available in Japan, 2 episodes per disc. There are 24 episodes in total, with two television specials; a Christmas special and a Spring Special. I have heard mention that an American company has bought the rights for translation and distribution but cannot confirm these rumours. TV Tokyo airs Love Hina in Japan and has a huge website that's fun to explore even if you don't read Japanese.
