Rumiko Takahashi has written many of the most popular manga and anime series of all time. Many of her stories are famous in the west as well as Japan with Ranma 1/2 being synonymous to many as anime incarnate. Takahashi's cheeky humour and Science Fiction/Fantasy blend in combination with her romantic comedy touch has made many of her stories all around winners. Many of Takahashi's works originally showed in Shonen Sunday, and in the west Animerica. Now comics and novels race off the shelves. Amongst her work are such titles as: Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Urusei Yatsura (Lum), Inu Yasha, One Pound Gospel and the long running gothic horror Mermaid Saga.

Inu Yasha is currently being aired in anime format on Japanese Television. The story is fairly repetative and stories never seem to run over more than one episode but it's a good watch and it's always nice to see Takahashi anime before it's butchered in the dubbing process. I've only seen this available online but it may be available in Japanese DVD.

In the west Takahashi comics are all distributed by Viz, as are the dubbed anime versions. Recent Ranma DVD releases however seem to have dual English and Japanese audio tracks. Some of the earlier OAVs are available through Kiseki video.
