Underworld Realm
Full of funky knick knacks, with a great selection of imported boots, t-shirts, CDs ... all sorts of yummy stuff... this is more aimed at your industrials and less at the RomantiGothi types... however there's still something for everyone. It also stocks a large range of Alchemy Gothic, which outside the AG store on the coast is probably the biggest you'll see. Much of the merchandise here can be expensive because it's imported.
Rocking Horse Records
THE BEST alternative music shop in Brisbane. This place does a roaring trade in new and second hand CDs and Vinyl ... it sells the tickets for most subculture and alternative events and is the only place in Brisbane to find decent Goth and Industrial second hand or at least for less than an arm and a leg. ... Often the place you can find your own CDs after they are nicked by your flatmate.

These guys seem to get in a lot of weird stuff... even more so now that Crystal works there. Import goth/industrial is fairly readily available here... as are t-shirts and some good second hand finds. This is also a great place to get concert tickets when the major sellers have sold out.

Doof tunes and vinyl, the place to buy electronica music and also carries a range of rave gear including decks, vinyl and DJ cases, clothes, drug tests etc. Be warned it can be expensive but more than likely if you're into this kind of music you're not going to care.
The Circle Bookshop
For all your esoteric needs. This is a bookshop specialising in Magick, Paganism, Ritual and Religion. If you want to buy a book on anything from Extra Terrestrials to Qabbalah this is the place to be.
McGills
*The* technical bookstore. You want a computer related book ... they'll have it... or if they don't have it they'll get it. Books on graphics, programming, software development, electrical engineering you name it. Sex on a stick.
Archives.
Drool. I want to own this many books... they have so many that they now have two buildings.... Archives is halls and halls and halls of books, mostly second hand... there's not much you can't find here.
Pulp Fiction
Nerd Heaven. This is a bookshop that specialises in Sci Fi, Fantasy and Crime fiction. Any author of these genres you could think to mention they will stock. It's the only store in Brisbane that constantly stocks Diana Wynne Jones... which makes me happy. They will attempt to order things for you if they're not out of stock.
