Daily to do list:
Make sure you visit each page on the daily to do list, most of them are free and often given out prizes or NP. You can only buy shares priced at 15+ NP now, so you have to be more careful. Always buy 1000 shares of the one company, as this is the maximum per day, and buy them when they've already lost some points, this often means they are soon to go back up. Be prepared to wait a few days for stock to gain points, and then sell them when you think they've reached a price worth selling for... you can usually make a few thousand NP every week doing this. Watch the Neopian Times for some good stock tips. If you have the money, buying up on Secret Laboratory pieces can often be worthwhile, it gives out many of the same prizes as Coltzan's Shrine but it can also have negative results, and change the colour/sex/species of your pet. Be willing to spend money on potions/paints to change your pet back to the desired look or have a pet that you're willing to experiment on. If you are looking to get a Robot pet like I was then stop subjecting the pet to the Laboratory ray once they have changed to Robot as it seems to be a very rare lab result (took me months to get a robot kyrii). If it is December make sure you visit the Advent Calendar every day for lots of free seasonal stuff. Also buying up on Seasonal Paint Brushes (Halloween, Christmas) prior to the event can yield a lot of NP if you sell them on the right day. Example: Christmas Paint Brushes now are around 4000NP, close to Christmas they can fetch around 45 000 NP.
Games for easy points:
Don't worry about getting sick from the Wheel of Excitement, people keep the prices on the cures for teh current Wheel disease very high, if you visit the Healing Springs in faerieland you will often get your pet healed, though it may take a few turns. Neggsweeper and the Lost Desert card games are good to rack up some points as they can each run to 5000NP per day. There are lots of other games to earn points but these are the ones I use regularly. Take some time to bookmark each of the stops on the Treasure Hunt trail, this makes the hunt very quick to complete after the first couple of times you do it. Once you have these bookmarked regularly complete the hunt and sell the map pieces for the current market value. Shops: It is a good idea to pick a few items that you want to sell in your shop and keep these in stock. A good idea is to sell the current cure for the Wheel of Excitement disease, it's fast money but you have to watch the current price carefully and don't get stuck with a whole heap of useless cures when the disease changes over. Make sure you know the market price for your stock, searching in the Shop Wizard and then refreshing a few times gives you a good idea, since different searches will return different prices for teh same item and the price differences can be astounding. The garage sale can turn up some real bargain items that you can then sell in your shop, however you have to watch it carefully because sometimes things aren't as cheap as they seem. Every so often they give out discount cards on Neopets that give you 2-10% discount in Neopian shops, they do retire them every few months but they're worth using while you can get them. Make sure you also haggle with shop owners, you can often get items at about 75% of their marked price so start haggling at about 50% of the price and work your way until they agree... but don't take too long or get them angry or you'll lose the item to another shopper. Neopets Colours and Paints: If you want to change both the colour and species of your pet at the same time check to see if there's a morphing potion for the species/colour combo you want. You can often save around 20 000NP if you find combined morphing potions, rather than having to buy a species morphing potion followed by a paint brush. Remember Robot pets are given randomly using the secret laboratory ray, mutant pets come from transmogrification potions, so don't bother looking for paint brushes for them. Krawk's are made by taking a krawk petpet to the Fungus cave. Hints and tips pages: |
